Bill Provisions
Access to Affordable Insulin Act instructs Department of Insurance to offer a discount program that allows participants to purchase insulin at a discounted, post-rebate price.
Sets forth provisions concerning the insulin discount program and defines terms.
Discount program to provide a card or electronic document that identifies the participant as eligible and provide participant with participating pharmacy information.
Provide instructions on how to pursue a reimbursement of the purchase price.
Shall charge a price for insulin that allows program to retain only enough of any rebate for the insulin to make State risk pool whole for providing discounted insulin.
Amends ILL INS 215-5/356z.41 to state total amount that insured shall pay for 30-day supply of covered prescription insulin drugs shall not exceed $35 (rather than $100).
