Bill Provisions
As amended Section 17Q(a) would provide that the Commission shall develop a plan to provide active or retired employees insured under the group insurance commission adequate coverage and access to a broad spectrum of pain management services.
Including non-medication, nonsurgical treatment modalities and non-opioid medication treatment options that serve as alternatives to opioid prescribing, per guidelines.
Also add MA LEG I-IV-32a-17(X) to provide coverage for prescribed, ordered or dispensed opioid antagonists used in the reversal of overdoses caused by opioids.
Makes other amendments to Section 17 of Chapter 32a of the General Laws.
